The FOMC meeting on Wednesday is the most important event this week.  While the general expectation is still that the committee ends QE, St. Louis Fed President Bullard’s comments nearly 2 weeks ago about possibly delaying the end of QE has led to some uncertainty around the outcome of this week’s meeting.  In addition, traders will be keenly focused on any changes to forward rate guidance.

As for economic data, the first estimate of Q3 GDP comes out on Thursday morning, at 8:30 am.  The consensus expectation is for 3.0%.  Outside of the GDP release, Durable Goods data is on Tuesday and Personal Income and Personal Spending data is released on Friday in the U.S.

In Europe, the latter half of the week includes releases of retail sales, CPI, and employment data.  In Asia, Japanese jobs data is on Thursday, and the BoJ’s monetary policy statement is on Thursday night.
